We currently offer a variety of services to support your child and their schedule in their various environments. This includes:
At Goalistic Therapy, we specialise in school-based goals, working in your child's everyday environment and regularly liaising with teaching staff to support engagement and enjoyment of school. Therapy may involve withdrawal of your child from their class or support in the classroom itself, or a combination of the two. School-based therapy is dependent on location, availability of the school and therapist, and may incur a travel fee.
Home-based occupational therapy services are offered to provide personalised care in the familiar setting of your child's home, using their everyday toys, living areas and resources, and promoting family involvement. Home-based therapy is dependent on location, availability of the therapist and may incur a travel fee.
The use of telehealth for therapy has shown significant benefits and at Goalistic Therapy we are experienced in creating engaging and supportive telehealth sessions, either directly with your child or through parent involvement or coaching. Telehealth enables sessions to be conducted from your child's home, enables access for rural or remote areas, and creates more flexibility for scheduling.
Group therapy is beneficial because it allows children to interact and engage with peers who may face similar challenges, building on social skills and using common interests such as sport, Lego or yoga to support engagement. Through group therapy your child can learn from others, build self-confidence and practice life skills under supervision from our team at Goalistic Therapy, where strategies and skills can be coached and used when problems arise in an organic setting.
We are currently offering 1:1 therapy sessions in the following areas, and are taking expressions of interest for group therapy programs:
At Goalistic Therapy, we believe everyone enjoys sport and should have the opportunity to enjoy sport. If they don't, they either have not found the right sporting activity, environment, or people, or a combination of the three. good spOrT is a social group where the focus is not neccessarily to be good AT sport, but rather developing the skills to be a 'good sport' - building friendships, engaging and working with new faces, emotional regulation when winning or losing, working as a team, attempting progressively challenging gross motor activities, and more.
Who doesn't like Lego?! Your child can engage with perhaps one of their favourite activities and build social skills along the way. Using a play-based approach, children learn to work as a team, take turns, develop problem solving skills, improve in how they communicate with peers, and have lots of fun whilst they 'play'.
Yoga is beneficial for children as it promotes physical health, emotional regulation, and concentration. Your child will develop mindfulness and self-awareness whilst enhancing their flexibility, strength, and balance. They can build on their self-confidence, social skills, and stress reduction abilities. Yoga can also improve sleep, body awareness, and self-acceptance. Additionally, yoga encourages discipline, creativity, and imagination, providing a holistic approach to children's development and well-being.
Onbeat is a dynamic program designed to harness the joy of movement to support your child's development. Onbeat combines the art of dance with therapeutic techniques to enhance motor skills, boost self-esteem, and foster social connections while enhancing coordination, and promoting overall physical health. Dance also fosters a creative outlet for children to express their emotions non-verbally, aiding in emotional regulation and self-awareness.
Our dance/OT sessions are tailored to meet each child's unique goals and needs, ensuring a supportive and enjoyable environment.
